Karma, and the Law of Consequence
Spiritual Awakening with Shaz – Episode 49
Introduction
Every soul encounters moments where judgment, empathy, and compassion are tested. These experiences often hold some of the most important lessons our higher self has chosen for growth. When judgment shows up, the universe has a way of balancing the scales, guiding us back to empathy and compassion. This is the law of karma and the law of consequence in action.
What Karma Really Is
Karma is often misunderstood as punishment or revenge. In truth, karma is about balance. It reflects the principle of as above, so below – what you send out energetically will eventually return to you. When compassion and empathy are missing, life will often deliver a lesson that helps you feel the very experience you once judged.
Why Judgment Boomerangs Back
Judgment disconnects us from love and compassion. When someone chooses judgment over empathy, the universe steps in to restore balance. A lack of compassion can create scenarios where the very thing judged becomes a lived experience. This is not cruelty but the soul’s way of ensuring growth.
Stories of Karma in Action
-
Kelly Clarkson’s divorce: A celebrity publicly shamed Kelly with harsh judgment. Months later, that same person experienced their own divorce.
-
A family example: A woman was judged and criticised by her sister during her divorce, only for that sister to face the same experience years later.
-
Public figures: The downfall of leaders and celebrities like Harvey Weinstein, Lance Armstrong, and Tiger Woods reveals how judgment, superiority, or dishonesty often circle back in karmic consequence.
These examples remind us that the soul creates situations that mirror our lack of empathy, teaching us compassion through lived experience.
Projection and the Shadow Self
Judgment often acts as a projection. It highlights aspects of ourselves that remain unhealed or unacknowledged. When we criticise others harshly, we are often avoiding our own shadows. The soul, however, will always call us to face them — either gently through awareness or more strongly through life experience.
Shifting from Judgment to Compassion
Moving out of judgment requires conscious practice. Some simple techniques include:
✔ Place your hand on your heart, breathe deeply, and reflect on where judgment arises.
✔ Journal on what bothers you in others and ask how it mirrors your own life.
✔ Call on your higher self to show you the bigger picture with empathy and love.
✔ Use practices like Ho’oponopono to release judgment: Please forgive me. Thank you. I’m sorry. I love you.
✔ End each day with gratitude, sending light and compassion to those you may have judged.
The Universal Truth
The law of cause and effect ensures that what we put out energetically must return. Choosing empathy and compassion frees us from repeating hard lessons. Judgment, on the other hand, delays growth and creates unnecessary cycles of consequence.
When compassion is chosen first, life flows with ease. When judgment dominates, the universe teaches the lesson by reflecting it back.
Final Reflection
Ask yourself: Where have I judged others only to later walk in their shoes? These moments are not punishment but opportunities to rise into empathy, humility, and wisdom.
The truth is simple: what we refuse to learn through love, we will learn through experience. The choice remains yours.
