Why Tarot Isn’t Fortune-Telling
I’ve been reading cards since I was 16 years old, and in all that time, the readings that have helped people most were never the ones that handed them a prediction to sit back and wait for. They were the ones that helped someone see clearly enough to choose differently.
Tarot reflects patterns, energy, and influences that are present in your life right now. Think of it less like a crystal ball and more like a very honest mirror. It shows you where things are heading if nothing changes — which is genuinely useful information, but it’s not the same as an unchangeable fate.
That distinction matters. If a reading tells you where you’re currently headed, you’re not powerless in that story. You’re the one holding the pen.
What Tarot Actually Does Well
Rather than predicting, tarot is much better at:
- Surfacing what you already sense but haven’t found words for yet
- Reflecting patterns in relationships, work, or decisions that keep repeating
- Offering perspective when you’re too close to a situation to see it clearly
- Prompting reflection, not dependency — a good reading should leave you feeling more connected to your own intuition, not less
A Reading Should Empower You, Not Frighten You
I’ll be honest — I’m cautious of anyone who uses tarot to predict doom, deliver fear-based “warnings,” or convince you that your future is locked in no matter what you do. That’s not how I read, and it’s not how tarot was ever meant to be used.
In my sessions, there’s no fear-mongering and no “doom cards” treated as fixed verdicts. If something difficult comes up in a reading, the point isn’t to alarm you — it’s to help you understand it, so you can meet it from a steadier place.

A conversation, not a performance. I draw the cards intuitively, and we talk through what comes up together — you’re welcome to ask questions as we go. Whether we’re using traditional Rider-Waite Tarot, Archangel Power Tarot, or an oracle deck, the goal is always the same: clarity you can actually use, not a script to live by.
