10 Spiritual Awakening Questions: 10 Answers About Intuition, Signs, and Self-Trust

These 10 spiritual awakening questions often appear when your intuition starts speaking louder than your old patterns. You may begin seeing signs, feeling energy, noticing emotional shifts, or wondering why your body reacts before your mind understands what is happening.

In this episode of Spiritual Awakening with Shaz, I answered 10 common spiritual questions people are often too scared to ask. These questions come up in readings, development classes, healing sessions, conversations with clients and everyday life. Many people feel spiritually curious, yet they worry they should already know the answers.

You do not know what you do not know until you learn it. Therefore, there is no shame in asking honest questions. That is how we grow, heal, and come back to our own inner guidance.

Why these 10 spiritual awakening questions matter

When you begin waking up spiritually, life can feel confusing. You may wonder whether you are anxious or intuitive, whether repeating numbers mean something, or whether your body is holding emotion from the past.

Because these experiences can feel strange at first, many people stay quiet. They think they will sound silly. However, the only question that creates a problem is the one you never ask.

Spiritual awakening questions help you become more present. They help you notice your body, your signs, your patterns, your reactions and your deeper truth. Also, they help you stop making yourself wrong for being human.

This episode is part of the No Dumb Questions with Shaz series, where the aim is simple. We ask the questions your soul keeps nudging you to ask.

How do I know if it is intuition or anxiety?

This is one of the biggest spiritual awakening questions people ask.

Anxiety and intuition can both show up in the body. They can both give you a feeling, make you stop, and cause you to question something. However, they do not feel the same when you slow down and listen properly.

Anxiety rushes in. It often brings panic, pressure, urgency, fear and overthinking. It says, “Hurry up. Decide now. Fix this. What if this happens? What if you get it wrong?”

Intuition lands more gently. It may feel firm, but it is usually calmer. Sometimes it comes as a quiet knowing, a peaceful pull, a body yes or no, or a clear sense that something does or does not match.

When I was younger, I did not always know the difference. I would feel something and immediately think, “Something is wrong.” Over time, I learned that intuition does not come to terrify you. It comes to guide you.

If you feel unsure, pause before you act. Take a deep breath, allow the feeling to settle, and ask yourself whether the message feels rushed and fear-based or clear and grounded. That question helps you separate noise from knowing.

Key reminder: Intuition does not scream. It quietly keeps telling you the truth.

Why do I keep seeing the same numbers everywhere?

Repeating numbers are another common spiritual awakening question. People often notice 11:11, 222, 333, 444 or other number patterns when they begin to awaken spiritually.

These number sequences can stop you in your tracks. Their purpose is often to bring you back into the present moment so you pay attention to what is happening around you.

In the episode, I shared a story about a man I worked with who kept seeing 10:49. When he asked me what it meant, I explained that 10:49 is 11 minutes to 11. It was still connected to the 11:11 awakening code, but his guides showed it differently because he was logical and analytical. If he had seen 11:11 directly, he may have dismissed it.

Another person kept seeing the number 78 on number plates. After exploring what happened when he saw that number, he realised it often caused him to slow down before police or possible trouble appeared. Once he understood the message, the sign no longer needed to appear as strongly.

So before you run to the internet to search every angel number meaning, ask better questions. What were you thinking about? Who were you with? What decision were you considering? What did you hear, see, or feel in that moment?

Numbers, coins, feathers, songs, colours, dreams, words and phrases can all become signs. However, the sign itself may not be the full answer. Often, it invites you to listen deeper.

Key reminder: A sign is not always the answer. It is often an invitation to pay attention.

Can my body really hold old emotions?

Yes. Your body can hold old emotions, memories, stress, fear, grief, trauma and unprocessed energy.

This is one of the spiritual awakening questions I feel strongly about because the body constantly communicates with us. It speaks through pain, tension, fatigue, heaviness, tightness, blocked digestion, clenched jaws, sore shoulders and strange little signals that ask for attention.

In the episode, I spoke about losing the use of my left arm years ago. Doctors explored different possibilities, including rheumatism and even an operation on my pituitary gland. I refused to accept those answers as my final outcome. Instead, I asked my body and soul to show me what needed clearing.

To this day, I do not live with that diagnosis in the way it was presented to me then. I believe emotional healing played a powerful role in my recovery.

That does not mean you ignore medical advice or pretend symptoms do not matter. It means you also listen to the emotional, energetic and spiritual message underneath the physical body.

Books such as You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, The Body Is the Barometer of Your Soul by Annette Noontil and The Secret Language of Your Body by Inna Segal were mentioned in the episode as helpful resources for exploring this connection.

When your body speaks, ask it what emotion is sitting there. Also ask whether the feeling belongs to you or whether you have absorbed it from someone else. Sometimes the first step is simply acknowledging what your body has been trying to show you.

Key reminder: Your body is not the enemy. It is one of your greatest messengers.

Why do I feel drained after being around certain people?

Empathic people often ask why they feel exhausted after being around certain friends, family members, clients, co-workers or busy environments.

Some people and situations do feel draining. Chaos can drain you. Conversations where someone talks at you rather than with you can drain you. Emotional dumping can also leave you feeling like someone unplugged you from the power source and walked away with your battery.

However, there is another layer to this. Not every draining person is stealing your energy. Sometimes you are giving too much away.

You may over-listen, rescue, absorb, advise, manage other people’s feelings, or stay in conversations long after your body has said, “We are done here.” When that happens, exhaustion becomes the result.

Energy maintenance matters. Ground yourself. Cut cords after heavy interactions. Call your energy back to yourself. Fill your field with source energy instead of giving from your physical body all the time.

You can also cleanse your body through water, movement, breath, shaking, dancing, walking outside, or standing barefoot on the earth. The point is not to fear other people. Instead, learn how to stop carrying what is not yours.

Key reminder: You can love people without carrying all their burdens.

Are my Spirit guides ignoring me when I cannot feel them?

No. Your Spirit guides do not disappear because you cannot feel them.

This is one of the spiritual awakening questions that often comes from panic. People feel disconnected, so they assume Spirit has gone quiet or abandoned them. In most cases, your guides are not ignoring you. Your system may simply be too noisy.

Stress, exhaustion, overthinking, doom scrolling, panic and asking the same question 47 times can make guidance harder to receive. Spirit often comes through as a whisper, not a leaf blower.

Guidance may arrive through a dream, a song lyric, an overheard conversation, a sentence in a book, a memory, a nudge to call someone, or a sudden feeling to stop, rest or act. However, you need to become available to receive it.

Sometimes no sign is also a sign. You may already know the answer, but you keep asking because you do not like what you know.

When guidance feels quiet, ask yourself whether you already have the answer. Then check whether you need more clarity or whether you need to trust what has already been shown.

Key reminder: Spirit does not disappear when your mind gets loud, but you need stillness to hear guidance clearly.

Why do I keep attracting the same type of relationship?

Relationship patterns can appear in romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics, work connections, social groups and everyday interactions.

You may keep attracting the same type of person because the pattern feels familiar. Familiar does not always mean healthy, aligned, safe or loving. Sometimes it simply means your nervous system recognises the old cycle.

Chemistry is not always alignment. Butterflies can feel exciting, but they can also signal anxiety, fear, old programming or a familiar wound. When your body lights up around someone, you need to ask whether it feels calm, safe and grounded or unsettled, muddy and chaotic.

If love was inconsistent in the past, emotionally unavailable people may feel exciting. If chaos felt normal, peace can seem boring. When someone shows up with respect and consistency, your nervous system might run because it does not recognise safety yet.

Instead of asking why you keep attracting the same person, ask what feels familiar about the pattern. What are you trying to prove? What are you hoping to fix? Which old version of love are you still chasing?

Healthy love can feel calm. It can feel steady, safe and respectful. However, you need to heal the old pattern so you stop sending better away.

Key reminder: Chemistry is not always alignment. Sometimes your body recognises an old pattern.

How do I know if I am healing or just overthinking?

Healing and overthinking can look similar from the outside. Both may involve journalling, asking questions, reflecting on patterns and thinking about the past. However, they feel very different in the body.

Healing creates space. Overthinking creates loops.

When healing happens, something shifts. You may feel an energetic release, a softening, a breath, a burp, a cough, tears or a sense of space in the body. Once you release something, you need to fill that space with love, peace, joy, compassion, kindness or whatever you desire instead.

Overthinking does not create space. It creates circling. You keep asking the same question without taking a step forward. Your mind opens ten tabs, but none of them load properly.

Healing leads to choice. Overthinking looks for certainty.

This matters because certainty can become a trap. Sometimes you will not feel completely certain before you move. Instead, the clarity comes after one honest action.

Ask yourself what you actually know right now. Then choose one small action that supports your healing. That may be meditation, EFT, somatic release, hypnosis, journalling, rest, truth, support or a conversation.

Key reminder: Healing creates movement. Overthinking keeps you spinning.

Do I need to forgive someone to fully heal?

Forgiveness is a sensitive spiritual awakening question because many people have had forgiveness used against them.

People often say, “Just forgive them. Let it go. Be the bigger person.” That sounds beautiful in theory, but it can feel damaging when it skips the truth of what happened.

Forgiveness is not about pretending something did not hurt you. It does not excuse harmful behaviour, minimise what happened, or require you to have a relationship with someone who caused harm.

At its core, forgiveness is about freeing yourself.

Before forgiveness, honesty must come first. What really happened? How did it affect you? What did it cost you? Which boundary was crossed? Does emotion still sit in your body? Do you need protection now?

In the episode, I spoke about Ho’oponopono, a forgiveness practice using the phrases: please forgive me, I’m sorry, thank you, and I love you. I also shared that forgiveness helped me reclaim my power from past trauma.

Holding on to unforgiveness can keep you stuck in the trenches while the other person continues with life. Therefore, forgiveness is not for them. It is for you.

Key reminder: You do not need to excuse what happened to release the weight of carrying it.

What if I feel like I have no purpose?

If you feel like you have no purpose, breathe first.

Feeling purposeless does not mean you have no purpose. It usually means you feel disconnected from yourself.

Every soul comes with gifts, talents and skills. Some are big and obvious, while others appear through simple things that come naturally. You may nurture plants, cook beautifully, connect with people, create art, write, design, organise, teach, care, build, lead, support, listen or solve problems with ease.

Purpose does not always begin as a career. Sometimes it starts as a pull, a curiosity, a frustration, or the thing you keep wanting to do even when no one pays you.

Pay attention to what lights you up. Notice what you can do for hours without losing interest. Also look at what people naturally come to you for, what you have lived through, and what wisdom came from your hardest lessons.

Sometimes purpose comes through pain because you become an advocate for the problem you had to survive. Other times, it sits in joy because your natural gift wants expression.

Do not dismiss something because it feels simple. Often, your purpose feels simple to you because it is part of who you are.

Key reminder: Purpose often starts with what feels natural, joyful and quietly compelling.

How do I actually trust myself again?

Self-trust sits underneath many spiritual awakening questions. If you ignored signs, stayed too long, chose the wrong person, doubted your gut, or abandoned yourself, trusting yourself again can feel hard.

You rebuild self-trust through small moments. Not one dramatic spiritual rebirth.

Every time you tell the truth, honour your body, say no when you mean no, pause before reacting, or stop asking ten people for an answer you already know, you rebuild trust.

Tiny promises matter. Small routines matter. Micro actions matter.

If you need somewhere to start, ask your body simple questions. Do I want tea or water? Do I want to stay home or go out? Does this feel heavy or light? Is this a yes, no, or not yet?

Then honour the answer.

Your intuition is a muscle. You strengthen it by using it, trusting it, practising it and giving it time to grow. You do not need to rush the relationship between you, your higher self, your guides and the cosmos.

Key reminder: Self-trust grows every time you stop abandoning what you know.

What these 10 spiritual awakening questions are really asking

Although these 10 spiritual awakening questions sound different, they all return to the same invitation.

Can you trust what is already inside you?

Can you listen to your body without making it wrong?

Do you notice signs without obsessing over them?

Is the energy you carry yours, or does it belong to someone else?

Can you honour Spirit without demanding constant reassurance?

Are you choosing relationships from truth or from familiar chemistry?

Can you release pain without forcing false forgiveness?

Will you allow purpose to grow from your gifts, joy and lived wisdom?

This is the real work of awakening. It is not perfection, spiritual performance, or pretending you have all the answers. It is coming home to yourself again and again.

Choose one question this week

This week, choose one question from this episode and sit with it. Do not try to answer all ten at once because that can create a spiritual avalanche.

Ask yourself what your soul is asking you to look at right now. Notice what you already know, what you may be pretending not to know, and which small step could change your life for the better tomorrow.

Then take that step.

The answers are not outside of you. They are inside you. Sometimes you just need the right question to unlock them.
